44 Essex Road, London N1 8LN UK
2 For The Road & Lost Map proudly present a special night at the Old Queen’s Head with The Pictish Trail, Rozi Plain and Tuff Love.
Come, bask in the glow of shimmering spectral-pop, hillside casio-folk and luminous grunge hymns, lovingly delivered to your ears by the leading lanterns of Scotland’s Lost Map flock.
- The Pictish Trail:
From a small caravan on the remote Hebridean island of Eigg, singer-songwriter THE PICTISH TRAIL runs the country’s newest and most eclectic DIY label and collective – LOST MAP. Celebrating the nationwide release of Secret Soundz Vol.1 and Vol.2 as a double album through Moshi Moshi Records, for this exclusive London show you can expect a wide selection of the Trail’s wonky pop anthems along with a few new tunes, aided by a few electronic gadgets, his guitar and the latest signings to Lost Map, TUFF LOVE, as backing band.
“There’s an emotional purity to these songs, which illuminate the shadows between Screamadelica and The Flaming Lips.” UNCUT
- Rozi Plain:
Long term tour buddy, and all-round-good-egg, Winchester’s ROZI PLAIN has released two albums – Inside Over Here and Joined Sometimes Unjoined – both of which are currently available through Lost Map Records. Her songs possess a plucky sense of charisma and brilliantly capture life’s ephemeral nature: each track a beautiful snapshot of fragility, intimacy and gentle melody. Having spent most of the past year touring with This Is The Kit, Rozi is just putting the finishing touches to her third solo album, and on July 1st will be performing a selection of songs accompanied with a band.
“Rozi’s BRILLIANT… A big favourite of the show” – LAUREN LAVERNE, BBC 6 MUSIC
- Tuff Love:
TUFF LOVE are Julie, Suse and Michael – two girls and a dude from Glasgow who cut beautifully distorted guitar gems. Their debut, Junk EP was released in May via Lost Map, and is the sound of pure summer; dazzling, sun-streaked fuzz pop, with soft, burning melodies, and big smiling harmonies.
“A band to fall in love with. Glaswegian trio grab C86 fuzz pop by the scruff of the neck and give it a damn good ruffing up round the back of the sweet shop. Delicious”. THE GUARDIAN
